Annual Sale
The Whitewright Public Library’s annual fund-raising sale will take place August 23 – 25. Thousands of books, videos, audios and more will be on sale, some culled from the library’s collection to make room for new items, while others are donated items.
Now is the time to be looking at your own shelves to see if you have anything you’d like to donate for the sale. The library accepts any materials in good condition – books, videos (VHS and DVD), audiobooks, music CDs, video games, magazines, etc. – and anything not added to the library's collection will go into the sale.
Donations are accepted during library hours, Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., with extended hours on Thursday until 7 p.m. Small donations can also be placed into the library's night drops (please be sure to use the correct one) after hours.
Sale schedule is as follows:
Thursday, August 23 - 10 a.m. - 7 p.m.
Friday, August 24 - 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday, August 25 - 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Hardcover books, trade paperbacks (oversized paperbacks), and audio/video materials are $1. Mass market paperbacks are 50 cents. Saturday will be a "clearance sale" with bags available for you to fill for $5 per bag.
The Friends of the Library will be organizing the sale, and will need help getting boxes moved out of storage, books sorted, etc. Anyone who’d like to help during the sale setup during August 20 – 22 should contact the library at 903-364-2955.
